This year's rummage sale was cool - quite cool - and rainy! We gave in to the heavy sprinkles at 12:30 having gained around $680. All the Pup candidates were there to help us sell (they can be quite persuasive) and, since there were more helpers than customers most of the time, the candidates engaged in a game - those who dropped the ball had to do push-ups or pull-ups. Gotta love those types of games! Thank you, Lin's Market, for the use of your parking lot for our sale.
Devil Pups is a non-profit organization designed to help teens 14-17 from all backgrounds gain self-confidence and learn to take responsibility for their actions. People wonder “Why the name Devil Pups?” The term “Devil Dogs” was used by German soldiers to describe Marines fighting in World War I. The Marines who organized this youth citizenship program chose the term “Devil Pups” to describe the quality of teen who can complete this program.

25 Apr 2015 - Devil Pups Rummage Sale
On Saturday, 25 April 2015, instead of a PFT session at the college, all Devil Pup candidates will join with the Utah Dixie Detachment #1270 of the Marine Corps League to assist at a rummage sale located in the parking lot of Lin's Market on Sunset. The sale will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (or sooner if sold out). Pup candidate families as well as Marine Corps League families are asked to gather up any rummage sale items to donate to the SoUtah Devil Pup program. Items can be delivered to the site on the morning of the rummage sale. We ask that all pup candidates make themselves available to assist in sorting, keeping an eye on items, bagging if necessary, assisting people to their cars with purchases, and with set up and tear down. A light lunch will be provided.
