27 Mar 2019 - Last Parent Information Meeting

Pup Candidates and Parents:  We had a SRO turnout on Tuesday night at the first 2019 Parent Information Meeting, and I got some good e-mail addresses.  If you signed a card during the Devil Pup presentation at your high school and you (or your parents) have not received an e-mail from me, please send me an e-mail at dtoole at sunrivertoday dot com (you know how to format that address) and I can get you on the list.  I was not able to decipher your e-mail for whatever reason.

WEDNESDAY evening 7:00 p.m. March 27, at the St. George Library, Basement Room B.  Last Parent Information Meeting.  Pup candidate and a parent must attend ONE of the meetings, so this is the last chance.

We are still waiting on confirmation for the first training session at the college fitness center.  There's a lot going on there, and we practice there as their guest.  Stay tuned to this blog and I will let you know as soon as I know.  We anticipate either this Saturday [30th] or next Saturday [6th].  Check back often.

 

Parent Information Meetings

PARENT INFORMATION MEETINGS:

If you wish to be considered for 2019 Devil Pup Summer Camp, you and one parent or guardian must attend ONE of the Parent Information Meetings.

Meetings will again be held at the St. George Library, 88 West 100 South, in St. George.

Meeting 1:  Tuesday evening March 26 at 7:00 p.m.
Meeting 2:  Wednesday evening March 27 at 7:00 p.m.

To begin training sessions with the Devil Pup staff, we will need a signed permission from the parents.  These can be signed at the meeting or you can bring the signed form which is attached.

AFJROTC Presentations

Devil Pup presentations are in progress at Dixie High and Pine View - March 19-21.  We will be contacting parents and/or pup candidates once we have the info from sign-up cards.

2019 May 11 - Devil Pup Rummage Sale

Devil Pup candidates and families:  We have a Devil Pup rummage sale on the calendar.  The rummage sale will be held in Lin's parking lot on Sunset on 11 May 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (or noon if we sell out).  Please bring your spring cleaning items you would be willing to donate for the Devil Pup program to the sale site at 7:00 a.m.  The Marine Corps League Marines help with this major fundraiser for our program. The Marines will supply tables for setting up rummage items and we will need help placing, selling and watching over the tables.

All Devil Pup candidates who have been in training are required to attend this event to assist with unloading, loading and selling items.  If you have a very good reason for not attending, please contact Sgt. Lewis.  Please arrive by 7:00 a.m.  If you have questions, please contact Donna Toole at dtoole at sunrivertoday dot com - (you know how to e-mail that e-address).

For Marine Corps League, D.A.R., VCSU members and friends, we very much would appreciate any items you could donate to the rummage sale to send our 2019 candidates to Camp Pendleton for Devil Pup camp July 25-August 3.  Other than a $100 earnest money contribution by each selected pup candidate, the program is free to the family so we must raise enough to send 10 teens (our quota for 2019) to camp.  Camp Pendleton costs have risen in the last two years.  Coupled with our Southern Utah training, transportation and graduation costs, it takes approximately $1,000 per pup for this 10-day camp, so your help with this fundraising effort is greatly appreciated.
