The second of two Parent Information Meetings is history and we will soon be off and running (literally) at Sgt. Billion's summer training. I will be breaking down all the applications over the next day or two and will report with some data as soon as I can get it organized.
In the meantime, I promised tonight to put a link to the Eagle application on our blog to make it easy to get to. Eagles are Devil Pup graduates who apply to be assistants at summer camp at Camp Pendleton. It is not an easy job! But, hey, it's California - near the Pacific, right?
Eagles are a conduit between the Devil Pups staff and the Pups. Due to the training tempo and an accelerated pace of learning, Eagles help enable the Devil Pups to assimilate to a new environment and gain a sense of belonging to something greater than themselves. Eagles are also peer mentors for the Devil Pups. Eagles are not trainers or instructors. Eagles, unlike the instructors, play a diverse role and are assigned a robust number of tasks and responsibilities. Eagles must possess a selfless and ‘team first’ attitude.

Here's a photo of one of my all-time favorite Devil Pups - and an Eagle - Micah Alba with his mom, Martha. This was in 2015. Micah lost his dad this year to Covid. Micah got his degree in criminal justice. Very successful young man.
